Joe...all I know is I have been a Burmester fan for a long time (my first ever high end system I ever heard at a friend's place was fronted by the Burmester 001 CD player mentioned in the 089 review). I was in Berlin in March and I got a chance to listen to a full Burmester set-up almost identical to yours: 089 CD, 077 pre, 911 mk 3s bridged in a mono config, and B-80 speakers. Listened to Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, some classical guitar, etc...and it was just superb. My dream SS set-up would be an all Burmester set-up as above with Rockport speakers (or Sonus Faber speakers). Enjoy your new toys. They are indeed exceptional.
