It's meant to be a small floorstander that competes with high-end bookshelf speakers with placement in space-constrained city apartments (i think the primary market for the speaker is Asia, where likely customers have smaller living spaces than here in the US). I am going to give it a listen in the next month or so once my local Rockport dealer gets it and breaks it in. He says it's quite a little speaker. Smaller form factor but can still give you bass down to mid-30Hz which matches the entry-level Mira from Rockport vith half the depth of the Mira. At close to $30K though vs. the Miras $16.5K, it feels like it's not great value for American markets. I would get the Mira or even the Ankaa ($27K) before the Alya unless space is at a premium and you need a speaker with small form factor but that can give you relatively full-range sound.

By the way, there are reports on Agon that a newer version of the Mira (ver II) is coming soon that will incorporate the newer tweeter and midrange cone drivers from the Ankaa. No info on expected pricing but if Andy payor can keep it close to the Miras current $16.5K and get you closer to the Ankaa sound than this will be a very successful update for him.

I auditioned the Mira last year and really liked it, so I can imagine the Mira II will be very good. Hopefully as Cyril stated the price will remain at or near the current retail.
