AJ it should be a very good setup, I know from not only Dan;s review nut many other that the 800s come alive so much better with a balanced amp/connector setup.

Thx Dave. Was amused to say the least when I unpacked the HDVA amp... NO POWER CABLE !!!
Detail I forgot to remember after I read Dan's and other online reviews. Even McIntosh ships power cable with their unit. Have not yet made the leep into the "exotic" & expensive power or other cable world.

AJ.......Order a couple Wireworld Aurora power cables from Ivan (Masterlu). It won't break the bank and is an excellent performer. I use the Wireworld Aurora power cable on both the Wyred 4 Sound DAC2 and the Sennheiser HDVA 600 headphone amp. Send Ivan a PM. He will treat you right.

I think Ivan has the WireWorld cords that are still very good without getting into the Wireworld Electra 5.2 etc. Still way better than stock and quieter etc.

Could not resist the Woo headphone stand. Comes in single and double.

Great and simple inexpensive idea.

I use the Sennheiser HH-10 headphone holder and I love it. It is dirt cheap and works great. Sadly, I think it has been discontinued.

Guess I'll resurrect this thread since I just received AJ's HD 800 and HDVA 600 (and the XLR cable to boot). I can't believe he let this rig go, but for whatever reason he did and now I have a Product of the Year headphone rig that sounds amazing! I haven't spent much time with the amp, but the 800's plugged straight into the C2500 sound better than any headphone I've owned or auditioned. The upgrade over my Focal Spirit One's is immediately obvious - overall extended range and a "speaker-like" soundstage (if that makes any sense).

Glad to finally join this club...Better late than never!

Steve.......Congratulations on purchasing a fantastic headphone and headphone amplifier. You will be able to feed your HDVA 600 using the RECORD OUT on the rear of your C2500 preamp. It will output a line level signal of whatever you are listening to, unaffected by the volume control, balance, or tone controls of the C2500. I suggest you use the balanced headphone cable and get your HDVA 600 headphone amplifier operating. You will love it.

Dan, I'll have to give that a try. Listening to Sam Cooke's "Night Beat" 45rpm LP right now through the 800's using the headphone jack on the 2500. Even that sounds great. This weekend I'll set up the HDVA with the 2500 in the listening room and get the full experience. As soon as the Auralic Altair arrives in July I'll have my dedicated bedroom headphone rig with access to all my music on the NAS. This will be fun!
