Default Solid Tech question

Hello;

For those familiar with the Solid Tech Rack of Silence products, are the 4 shelf options truly the largest they get? I was curious if the models are stackable allowing for 6, 7 and 8 shelf units depending on which products were stacked? I would love to get into these at some point but with units only capable of holding 4 components unfortunately that won't work with all of my gear and I don't have the space for multiple stands side by side,

Thanks,

Rod

AFAIK the 4 level one of the largest they make but you can join two of them together side by side.

However I have seen some examples on the net where people have added additional shelves to a 4 level one so they can house smaller components of 1RU in dimension, which gave them 5 or 6 levels to work with.

So in short yes, you can expand them but you are limited by the overall height of the system and the size of your components.

hope this helps.

Thanks

Joining them side by side is interesting. I really wish I had more space as that would be an option. Unfortunately most of my gear, save for my DVR is a decent height so 4 shelves is probably all I could have given the 900mm height of the unit and wouldn't be able to even add a 5th.

These things are confusing. I just measured my rack and pretty much at 900mm is my 5th shelf, 900 is just a little above my 5th shelf actually. My shelves are about 3/4" though whereas the ROS shelves look thicker, at least the ones at the top and bottom do, I assume they are what is referred to as heavy duty shelves. So I might actually be able to get away with adding a 5th shelf.

When they say shelves I'm taking it they mean the cross braces where the gear sits on?

It also seems like the basic shelves come in two flavors, basic and basic suspended. I don't see any evidence to suggest the unit could for example have all basic shelves or all heavy duty shelves but given how they are designed I don't see why that wouldn't be possible.
