Default Transparent Audio Cable

IMG_2073.jpg
Just received latest G6 for my Esoteric K1X.
Too bad when I opened the certificate folder
It was printed that this cabled was tuned for Esoteric K01X Of ten years ago. Too bad. But fortunately both models Have the same 40ohms of XLR output impedance. If output Z is the only thing that matters for Opus level than the sound should be fine.

Now 20 hours of continuous playing but I can feel the sound is Not very clear and open up just yet.

At the level you're at, I think you are looking for a higher level of ecstasy, rather than "fine". Maybe it is worth a phone call to your dealer or an email to Transparent?

Yes, I am standing by for how the factory will respond.
We never mention K01X during the ordering process,
So it was not on me for sure. I was disappointed of course, but once I saw the spec of both I was more relaxed.
My best guess is that they will say it was a typo and they will send me new certificate., or they may say both player would require the same calibration anyway, and hence, new corrected certificate paper again.

Toga.
P.S. I should hear back from them in not too long.

They usually respond quickly. Within a day or 2.

I'm waiting on my Gen 6 Reference speaker cable.

Before this G6 , I was almost buying OPUS G5, which I liked very much.
But I had to try XL G5 too which I did, and it was very good too. And G6
Arrived so I think that s the way to go for my last IC, the Endgame IC.
But I have to day, the G6 do not sound the same as G5. Or is it the
Burn in issue? Noe only 40 hours on them. Both of the G5 were more open sounding and more character free. I felt G6 bass is very heavy.
And it shows every change I made super clearly. The difference between Esoteric clock set in Normal and adaptive ground mode were clearly audible, more so that I have ever heard.

I hope the G6 will outperform the G5 when burned in for a few hundred hours. Keep us updated in a few weeks!

Transparent has informed my dealer that my cable has been ordered and made for Grandioso K1X from the start.
Until the certificate printing that they don’t have that on menu database, so someone picked K01X. The corrected
Paper will send to me later.

How is it sounding now? Had you tried the Opus Gen 5 IC in your system before?

Now 50 hours on G6. One bad thing that was gone is
The dry sounding which I can feel in the first 20-30 hours.

Yes I used G5 XL and Opus before.

Till now G6 still sounded thicker. Bass heavy.
And not as open sounding as before(G5). I switched many Power cords but this bass heavy and thick sounding still persist. Let’s see how it will sound at 100 hours. I think now it sound very similar to my Stage III Gryphon but with less dynamic. Whereas the G5 XL was much better than Stage III as I remembered. I thing the G6 needs more time, or I be in trouble. All the details are there, but all
Sharp transient sounded rounded and mellow. This is not like Transparent house sound at all.

I keep playing it non-stop since Monday.

Toga,
Thanks for the play-by-play on your transition to Gen-6. I have, and enjoy, Gen-5 Super and Ultra cabling. If Gen-6 is a significant improvement, I would like to save toward maybe Gen-6 Reference level. However, if it’s not a big improvement or changes the “Transparent sound” I so enjoy, I’ll continue to enjoy the Gen-5 and maybe move to Gen-5 Reference at a savings. 🤔
Thanks again!
