Stephen.......That sharp eye and trigger finger came in handy. The published photo is a nice feather in your cap. Way to go.

By the way, how do they just "pick up" your image? Are you connected with a wire service?...just curious how that works.
Robert,
The PR Director sends shots out to the various papers and media agencies, and then tracks which ones pick them up. Often the racetrack will get copies of the picked up stories and photos and keep them for their archives or for use in the media center. In this case, Diana came around yesterday asking who got shots of Hayes' crash. I said I did and sent four selects to Diana yesterday afternoon. She sent them out to the papers last evening, she then sent me back the link today of the Chron picking up the photo and writing a story about it.

Awesome news Stephen. Big Congrats. I have a photographer friend that loves to hit the track. Can't wait to show him your photos. He'll be pretty jealous. Anxious to see some moto gp photos after they roll through there. and thanks again for the photos.

Thanks, Dan.

It's nice but I've been published in the Chron and other NorCal papers, as well as mags and web sites before. I did this for seven years for both Laguna and Infineon, so my stuff got used. I got a nice shot some years ago of Tony Kanaan crossing the finish line at Infineon at the IRL race and punching both fists in the air. As Diana put it, the track used that photo "a bazillion times" the following year.

sorry for the off the wall question...but how does your work, or others, end up in places like Getty Images and others like. I had an indirect relationship with Getty as a hardware vendor, and I never quite understood how the process worked.
