I enjoyed it. Very simple recording of his guitar and voice. Both are perfect for the music.

Definitely worth a listen.

I browsed a bit for other Son House albums on the platforms and could not find anything close to acceptable sound wise... they really did a fantastic job on this one, Ryan Smith the audio restauration and mastering engineer has also worked on Nils Lofgren's Acoustic Live (well known by audiophiles) as well as several Joe Bonamassa and AC/DC later recordings, also Coldplay and Adele to name a few...

After hearing this album I have great hopes that we will soon be able to listen with great pleasure to some other great remasters of fantastic (but hardly listenable) musicians such as Charlie Parker and so many others

Joel, don't forget that Parker's best recordings are from the 40s.
The recording quality then was not comparable with the 50s. There was a lot of progress in the recording equipment in 5-8 years.

Yes Bart good point thanks for highlighting it, I didn't realise the original recording was actually from 1964, pretty late in his career. I thought earlier that it was pure magic remastering of takes from the 40s-50s
