Default Cricket World Cup Starts Today- Can Hardly Wait!!!

At last, the Cricket World Cup starts today & for the First time New Zealand's Team looks like we have the ability to win the cup!!

The big games today are New Zealand against Sri Lanka at Hagley Oval in Christchurch- its a sell out with about 30,000 people there & a World Wide TV Viewing audience of over 1 Billion. Go the Blackcaps!!

Follow the game here 1st Match, Pool A: New Zealand v Sri Lanka at Christchurch, Feb 14, 2015 | Live Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo

The other game today is Australia against England at the MCG- again a sell out & almost 100,000 people at the MCG with another World Wide TV Viewing audience of over 1 Billion. follow the game here : 2nd Match, Pool A: Australia v England at Melbourne, Feb 14, 2015 | Live Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo

The best outcome for that game would be a tie & both teams suffering major injuries to key players (who says Im biased).

The player Kiwis love to hate is the Australian opening batsman David Warner - a shy retiring man with good grace & manners & the shining example of sportsmanship- yeah right. http://www.themiddlestump.co.uk/2013...or-warner.html

See this link for a good laugh about our ANZAC Brothers : Gone yes! | A Turf Fascination

So- no HiFi listening today- Ill be glued to the TV this morning watching NZ V SL, & tonight watching OZ v England- bliss!!!

Don't worry Dan, Ill covert you one day.

Back in the eighties I was in LA on my way to the UK. Went to a Bar in Anaheim & started talking to a friendly guy at the Bar who was a 'Baseball Fan'. I couldn't resist & went on about how as a Baseball batter you are only batting for very short times in a game & don't have much opportunity to bat long periods to show off your talent- test yourself against fast, medium & spin bowling & - if you're good enough' bat for days- I think I almost converted him. We shook hands & he left- at which point I was swamped by both Bar patrons & the Bar Staff all excited asking me how I knew this person- I said I didn't- we just talked about Baseball & Cricket. Turns out he was a famous Baseball Batter 'Will Clark'. Id Never heard of him just like he wouldn't of heard of Viv Richards or Martin Crowe. Nice Man- fun Guy to talk to.

Nick.......Cool story.

About that conversion......I don't have enough time left and I don't think you have enough patience to make it happen. I have about the same level of interest in volleyball. But hey, that's just me.

Following up on yesterdays games as I know Dan will be interested.

Big win for New Zealand yesterday & the Australians gave the Poms a hiding.

Today we have South Africa v Zimbabwe in Hamilton (NZ). SA should win at a canter, but are already 2 wickets down!

The massive game this afternoon is India v Pakistan in Adelaide (Aust). The TV audience for this will probably hit 2 billion + & it will almost be impossible to follow the game on the internet as the entire sub-continent will be logging in onto Cricinfo.

Im backing Pakistan- the Indian team is full of over-paid multimillionaires (their Captain MS Dohni is the 22nd top paid sportsman in the world according to Forbes- made $30 million USD last year). Mahendra Singh Dhoni - Forbes

The Indian batsman are little more than flat track bullies & their bowling attack is ordinary.

Go the Pakis!!!

You sheep shaggers are in excellent form but you won't beat Australia

Guys like Warner are exactly what every team needs the POM's sure do. They were pathetic yesterday.

Q: What do you call an intelligent Australian- A: A Kiwi.

Anyway, I'm hoping for a NZ- Australia Final.

Watching the India/Pakistan match on Sky TV at the moment- the noise from the Crowd is unbelievable!

Irfan, at 7 foot 3 inches tall, is a monster. Loved the way the Indian batsman practiced facing him in the nets, with the coaching team bowling off stools using a dog-ball thrower!

C'mon NZ, if there was such a thing as an intelligent Australian it certainly wouldn't be a Kiwi... that'd be like an oxymoron lol!

All that said we have always thought you Kiwis were actually super intelligent by lumbering what is obviously all your really dumb Kiwis on us! But any chance tho that you can take them back now.

PS To all in truth we actually love our Kiwi brothers, especially when they come over, haka us stupid and take our dole, bounce us out of our nightclubs and then go on to regularly beat us at both rugby and cricket... not that were in any way sore losers over here

Well, Pakistan let me down, being toasted by the Indians. I have to admit, Virat Kohli is a superstar!

Winning the toss helped India- as both side rely on their batters to post a big total & then apply scoreboard pressure. The Paki leg spinners we ineffective last night.

In the other match, Zimbabwe was no match for the Saffers, although they didn't get it all their own way. Zimbabwe could provide a few up-sets in this World Cup.

Today we have Ireland v The West Indies in Nelson (NZ). Really, it should be a WI win, but their Cricket has fallen badly from the glory days of the 80's & 90's. Just confirming that Rugby is the New Zealand Religion , the joke going around this morning is that the Irish Cricket Team would fancy their chances against The Crusaders (Canterbury Region Rugby Team) due to that Teams poor performance on the weekend.

Aussie Joke for the Day: Q: How does an Australian find sheep in the tall grass. A: quite nice actually
