The new 2014 cars sound horrible! Doesn't sound like formula one anymore. Rain coming down at Albert Park during qualifying (photo from parents balcony)... image-2044732275.jpg

Agreed. They sound like shit now. They have rev limit set at 15k RPM, but they all change gears at around 12k max, since it is a turbo engine with different torque curve - you don't have to rev it that high.

Lower revs + turbocharger (acting as a muffler) = shitty sound.

I wish they stayed with natural aspirated engines - thay could have added the new KERS and direct fuel injection to increase fuel economy. Adding turbochargers ruined the sound.

Here's a great animated video explaining all of the changes to the new F1 cars.

Totally agree about the sound.I think a Massey Ferguson tractor sounds sportier.
Ricciardo in P2 and then Vettel got the Bronx cheer for his P12 from the locals

When men were men and F1 cars were mostly slid around, not driven Oh yeah, manual shifters, drum brakes, bicycle width tires... it also sounded like a racing car

What an interesting start to the season. Ricardo disqualified after coming second (from his home race... Bummer)... And F1 getting sued for making the cars too quiet... Ha, I love it!
