Today my C-47 has arrived. First impression: promising and better than my C-37.

Hi!

My C47 is connected to E800 (XLR) and when the volume set up over -23 dB humming noise appear on the speakers (Devore O93). Both connected to PS530 and for the moment using the cheaps original power cord on three components.

is it normal ? Any suggestion?... Thanks!

It should be perfectly quiet - my C37 is the quietest phono stage I have ever had (and I tried many).

Try disconnecting you turntable from the C47. With the C47 + E800 turned on is there any noise without the turntable.

You might pick up noise in the turntable ICs or from the table.

Hi restock!

I disconnected IC from the c47 and the noise still there over -23 dB... when I change load resistance the noise up (100 ohm) and down (10 ohm) ...any ideas?

Some white noise would be normal at this loudness level. Hum should not be there.

What do the level meters on the amp show - with my DAC30 card the second bar lights up when I cross the -18dB level. At -23dB I only hear a light white noise. I will connect up my C37 later this week again and try.

Please, did you solve the noise problem?
I am interested in this equipment, please can you tell me if you are using balanced cable and what is the cable size?
If you buy, I will use a 5mts long balanced cable!
I currently have an Esoteric E-03 and an Audio Research PH7, zero noise, I am afraid to change and regret it because of the reported noise!

Nascimiento... like restrock said it is a white noise at high volume setting...I will try to change the power cords...

BTW...C47 sound sublime!

EDIT1: I believe is it a current problem...cause today white noise started to listen at -16dB....Im buying better cables for all components...

Thanks for the answer!
I currently have an Esoteric E-03, which works very well, without any noise, even being 5 meters from my pre amplifier! I'm afraid to change and have problems!

Default NEW Accuphase c-47 phono preamp

The Accuphase is quieter than either Esoteric and Audio Research or any other phono stage I tried. What is described above occurs with the preamp turned up all the way up to maximum volume and would occur with any phono stage that has 70dB gain.
