I wholeheartedly agree with CRWilli above. I too auditioned the Esoteric N-05xd in my system. A great unit.
I also have Bricasti, but an older M1se with MDx. I chose to stay with my unit because the Esoteric did not best the Bricasti. The M1 has much of the M21 and is available in the used market around your price point. It drives my Luxman M900u directly .

Yep, Joe, I would love to do as you say, however, I don't have any AES cables and the Lampi doesn't have an AES input, only SPDIF, TOSLINK, and USB. Excellent suggestion, though.

Good thread.

I am in the same position about upgrading my D100.

The D1100 looks very nice, but at almost US$8.0K, it's a bit much for my budget.

Would the Bryston BDA3 or 3.14 be a significant upgrade from my D100?

I just bought a Yggy Less Is More thanks to all the internet hype.

My goal is for this to smoke my d100 and be “good enough” while I upgrade my preamp and then take my time finding the DAC flavor I like.

I’d love for it to just be good enough- but time will tell after it settles in.
