Default Surprising Grande Utopia Tweak

I have a good friend who recently bought a pair of the Focal Grande Utopia EM's. He is simply gaga about them, and he told me he did something that surprised me. The Grande's have that funny power supply that sits away from the main body of the speaker.

First, my friend substituted the AC cord that you plug from the wall to the canister.....then, he had his cable making buddy make a custom cable that runs from the canister to the speaker.

Now, my buddy is not one to blow things out of proportion and has tried every tweak in the book, but he reports that he was totally stunned at the improvements made to his speakers by changing those two basic cables. He feels that all Grande Utopia EM owners should know of this tweak.

Of course, he also just put Stillpoint SS 5 footers under his speakers and he is even more gaga about the speakers now!!!!

Cheers,

Any chance you can post some pics? I'm having a little difficulty comprehending what was done. I'm always interested in what tweaks everyone has used over the years.

Yep, I have a friend in Dallas that has done this also with his G. U. EM's... He used Purist wiring...for the others reading this..it's just the power supply that energizes the woofer magnet. He pulled the purist power cord and went to stock for me...holy smokes...

PS these are great speakers...

U can try to support the psu with the smallest Stillpoints footers. U may be surprised with the subtle improvement .

Saw a purist dc cable retailed at £3650. That’s more than the cost of the power supply itself
