PPP's X 2 + Mac's = Magic
Summary First: The PPP’s (2) allow my McIntosh system, probably any high-end system, to perform their magic. This is the most effective and rewarding upgrade I have ever made in my stereo lifetime. My recommendation would be that before you buy any new piece of electronics, this should be your first priority because your present system may be able to give you everything you are looking for if this baby becomes a part of it.
Review: Dan, Serge and others have superbly written excellent reviews of this product and are far more competent than I for explaining “why and how” it works so I will only tell you how it affects my system. I have 2 dedicated 20 amp lines, self installed, which feed only my system. On the left unit I have my 1.2KW, MDA, 50” Plasma TV, DVR and Squeezebox plugged in. On the right side I have the 1.2KW, MCD, C500c/C500P, JVC receiver and Panasonic BluRay player. All the Mac electronics are connected to outlets on the PPP’s set to switched and the other equipment are on “Always On”. I had to, once again, pull all of my Mac equipment out of the enclosures to rearrange the wiring and then build shelves on each side to place each PPP. My only criticism of McIntosh is “weight”. I am getting too old for this stuff. For the 1.2KW’s(165lbs), 40 would be too old. As soon as I turned them on, I noticed that my voltage was at 125 and the PPP’s immediately brought it down to a steady 120 on the right side and 121 on the left side. I thought I could hear my Macs whispering “Thank you, Thank you”. The results were AMAZING. Vocals were richer, more natural and with greater depth than I have ever heard. The bass had far more detail and musicality. The highs are as sweet and pure as one could possibly hope for and the soundstage was nothing short of awesome. Ivan told me that they were “Magical” and that is definitely the operative word. They enable my entire McIntosh system to perform at a level I never dreamed possible. I know the skeptics may think I am exaggerating but, honestly, they are that good. While I had all the equipment out, I snaked a fiber optic cable from my BluRay to the MDA so that I could play a DVD through my Macs or my surround system or both and the results are so good that I now am referring to my system as a “Baby Lu” ensemble. The colors on my 50” Plasma are noticeably richer and my JVC surround system is much improved. I cannot imagine that PS Audio will hold the price at this level for long so I recommend you run, don’t walk, to your PS Audio dealer or, better yet, contact Ivan for expert advice and recommendations for your particular system. If you want to hear how good your system can sound then consider this particular upgrade. YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!!

Howard.......SOLD! Oh, wait I already have one. Now, I think I'm going to get another one. My pair of MC501's are the only part of my system not on the PPP. That is because both amps share a dedicated 20 amp circuit, and I didn't want to loose that by putting the amps on the other dedicated circuit that supports the preamp and sources. I need to do what you have done, and add another PPP.
