The mount that is on the table is the same mount used on the Classic Companion. I can assure you that it isn't a "Jerry Rig" set up. The cover should be able to fit nice and snug now on your table.
Overall, having a turntable mounted cover on a piano black or rosewood gloss finish isn't a good idea because there is a chance it might get marked from the cover. Ginko is a good third party cover designer, they actually use the same supplier we do. However, it is always a good idea to work with the dealer to find the best option (Maks, sorry for the misinformation you were given earlier by my office staff).
Honestly, we have been pulling away from cover manufacturing because it does limit turntable design. We had to make unnecessary design changes to the Companion arm just so it would fit in the cover. In fact, before making the Classic 4, we toyed with putting the 12 inch arm on the Classic 3 but vetoed it because the cover wouldn't fit.
Also, unless you have children or animals, we suggest for customers to use the same solution Harry uses... shoot your table with a can of compressed air and save your money on the cover. I'll admit I'm a bit lazy on my Traveler I have in my apartment and shoot it with compressed air once every 3 weeks!
I hope this has cleared up some confusion. If not you can always feel free to email or call us we try to do the best we can to make our customers happy!
Thanks,
MW
