Why so many Olympica II and III for sale?
I haven't heard what these sound like, but they have some very good reviews. I know there are new models out, but why so many for sale second hand?

I have set up a few pair for friends and they are an excellent loudspeaker. They were sold by Best Buy Magnolia and were discounted heavily as new lines were added by SF. At the current $6k to $7k price point I think they are a great value.
There is a lot of speculative listing going on right now. The cost to put up an ad on most sales sites is low to free, so I see a lot of overpriced gear out there right now. Happy hunting. Tom

The Olympica Novas share a lot of the underpinnings of the Amati Tradition (the new base and IMHO the more important part.. it has the new Sonus Faber sound that is actually closer to the sound of pre-FineSoundsAudio Sonus Fabers.
Looks wise, I actually prefer the tilted back look and the front leather baffle of the older model.

At the discounted pricing for the Olympica series, it was almost a no-brainer to pick them up. Loving my Olympica IIIs. The differences are going to be subjective but I absolutely love the current voicing and this is having owned a pair of Signums many years ago.
If the Olympica IIs go for around $4k used/demo, this will be a VERY compelling speaker to put on your short list to anything comparable out there. |

Beautiful speakers, but have not seen any II's for as little as $4K.
sfdude - what amp are you using with your III's?

Would certainly like to try a pair in my system as will no longer purchase speakers without auditioning at home. It took two years to the month to get to the point that I'm very happy with my current speakers and don't want to go thru that again. But, the II's & III's are certainly a fine looking speaker and are being offered at attractive pricing.

I'm using a Devialet 220 Pro CI. Great match with my Olympica IIIs.
