Mike.......You had a jamming sound system back in 1981. I like it. I had a Nakamichi 480 cassette deck, too, but mine was silver. Damn good cassette recorder.

You're right about the MR7082 tuner. I had the MR7084, and it was one of the poorest operating tuners I ever owned. The specs looked good, but I never got it to pull in enough stations to spend any time listening to it. I think both of those tuners were from the Clarion days.

My first tuner was Kenwood KT-7000 from the era of thick faceplates from Kenwood.

MarkJ.......The Kenwood KT7000 was a nice tuner. Back in the 70's I had several Kenwood pieces, an integrated amp, a tuner, and a cassette deck, but the model numbers are eluding me at the moment.

First tuner was a Scott LT-112B solid state tuner mated to a Dynaco SCA80 integrated amp and Advent loudspeakers (before there was larger and smaller Adents - they were marketed as 'larger' later on). I built the Dynaco from a kit too.
This was my first stereo that I bought new in 1970.

A McIntosh MR67 purchased in Washington, D.C. in 1966. Along with a C22 and an MC240, it replaced a Fisher 500C. Why I ever got rid of any of it is beyond me.

Agreed, Dan. Nor with the 74 I just acquired for the second system (well, I've had to order new glass for it, but it has no reception or sonic issues).

To begin with, Altec 416 woofer/806A horn-loaded compression mid/tweeter in DIY enclosures, then Bozak Symphonies.
