A nice recommendation from this thread.
Very good sonics.
Relaxing record, easy listening.
Ray Brown and Gene Harris are communicating well with each other.

Complex and not so accessible music.
But rewarding. Brilliant drum and bass solos. Very well recorded and remastered.
Tony Williams (who also played in the Miles Davis Quintet at that time) was only 18 here, and all 5 compositions are from his hand.

re: Anthony Williams, "Life Time"
+1 this is worth playing

Not to mention the album has a stellar cast, with Sam Rivers,, Bobby Hutcherson, Herbie Hancock, and Ron Carter.

I was 16-17 when this album came out. And I still love it. One burst of energy!
Of course Art Blakey chases his young players to perform at their best.
Wynton Marsalis is outstanding, and bassist Charles Fambrough not only gives us a fantastic composition, he plays marvelously. (He played earlier with Grover Washingtom Jr, McCoy Tyner, and later in Wynton Marsalis' own band, and as a leader too)

A smooth classic to end the evening.
Sounds good! I do like Getz saxophone tone a lot. And the tunes are nice

If you like the Getz/Gilberto album, you will also like Stan Getz/Charlie Byrd, "Jazz Samba" (Verve)

I have the Speakers Corner reissue, and am waiting for the 45 RPM remaster to be released.
