Stradivari - Need help deciding on the speaker

I also used to own Strads and drove them with mid-powered CJ amp at first, and eventually with a Gryphon Antileon pure Class A SS amp. They are a great speaker, and imho belong in the pantheon of great speakers. As for detail, just make sure you drive them with high current. With mid-powered amps, you will be absolutely fine, but if you push them with high quality, high current, they will continue to deliver greate detail, nuance (and most surprisingly much greater, more propulsive, low bass) and a well-balanced presentation that always ensures a beautiful presentation.

I have auditioned B&Ws a number of time, but not spent nearly as much time with them. My impression was that they might require high current even more than the Strads in order to sound truly great. Elected SF consistently over B&W and many other brands, as a matter of personal preference.

Hi Master Lu,
Did you use your Stradivari for HT set up? Can you share your experience?
I am using Elipsa SE for the HT, just wonder make sense for me to swop it to Stradivari (with top up of course) ...

I never used my Strads for HT duty.

I recently purchased the Stradivari to be used with my ASR Emitter and have been very pleased with the synergy.
For what i listen to (classical) these seem to be just about perfect.

I actually thought about getting the Aida but my wife (bless her heart)
is bugging me about adding an addition to our home so I think I got the next best thing in the Stradivari.
They are simply the most musically satisfying speakers i've owned (so far).

Did you have an opportunity to audition the Lilium or was it not available at the time you made your purchase?

No, i never had the opportunity to listen to those but I'm sure they sound wonderful in there own way too.
Honestly my decision to purchase the Stradivari was based on several factors,
the most important one being they just appealed to me on such a deep emotional level,in my gut,so to speak, that i fell in love with them then and there.
Another consideration was the old WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) which was important as she would have to live with and listen to them as well. (She's not much of an audiophile but she loves the look, as do I).
