Anyone get the "Antivirus Soft" attack??

I did just last night and I thnk I've gotten most of it off after about 4-5 hours of scanning. Just have to change my internet proxy settings off before it will let me do anything but check my e-mail.

No attack here, thank goodness. I keep all my operating system software up to date, use two fire walls, and keep my anti-virus software current daily. Hopefully this will shield me any attack attempts and protect my computers. Norton did block a trojan attempt last night that tried to come in through Google Images.

This thing is pretty incidious. It even diabled my firwall at the Wi-Fi router AND disabled all of my AV software (all three of them).

The first step in trying to get my computer "back" was to reboot and immediately go stop the (random charachters sssd.exe) process. Everything else on the screen were dead ringers for Windows warning boxes.

Mighty Favog.......How do you think you picked up the virus?

My computer is set up to do automatic updates for Windows, et al. and I think I remember that that update was part of it when I looked into the update history. I guess it was time sensitive (tick....tick....tick..........BOOM).
