You are absolutely right. The cold Pacific is a huge downfall !!!

The reason that I didn't mention it, is that "most" people who can afford to retire here would not get it the ocean no matter the temp. Me, when I lived on the Caribbean, I spent a huge part of the day IN the water.

I am retired and living where I want to be - the North Coast of California. I have traveled to most of the US over the years and, for my preferences, this is one of the best spots there is. ymmv, of course.
