Hi guys,
it's official!! I have chosen the YBA Passion 300 over the ARC DSi200! The latter had hit the 200 hours break-in so I was pretty sure it had expressed most of its potential. We did the last audition yesterday night, and both my friend and I had no doubts: the YBA sounded much better, much more musical, warm, transparent, magic, involving than the ARC. Sounded like it was from another league. We were carried along by the music, unlike with the ARC. I'm sorry for the ARC dealer who has been so kind to let me keep it for such a long time, but it's my ears that decide!! I'm so happy....now I can enjoy my music....thanks to everyone here who supported me and gave me very good advice... Luca |

Luca, congratulations on finding an amp that really lets you enjoy the music - that's what it's all about. While I love my ARC, I think we all recognize that at this level of quality it's as much about our individual systems, rooms, listening habits and tastes as the individual gear. Vive la différence!
By the way, how is the built-in dac on this piece? Tony

Luca, congrats!! It is always a joy to find a component that makes the experience magical for you. And kudos for listening to, and with, your own ears. It is too easy in this hobby to get carried away by some self-appointed audio cognosti about what gear is better.
