No I don't, but I have been meaning to for years. Other things kept getting in the way. This means I have done a lot of research but haven't actually spent any money

BTW I love this Mi-24 heli ... it looks so mean

This Christmas I bought a small RC helicopter for my 3 year old son.

Best gift I could have bought as we both have a fantastic time together flying and crashing the toy. Lots of fun. And I'm surprised how fast a 3 year old child learned to pilot the heli in a stable flight (no fancy manoeuvres obviously).

I have started thinking of buying a very good adult version - what's the best small (don't want to buy a truck to carry it around) one at any price? What manufacturers / web sites to look for?

Kev, I looked it up: Wild Rooster - Motorbike

Cool stuff, Serge! Keep that heli out of the theater!

This would be a logical next step.

Of course if you want to really move on to the bigger stuff, the best place to start is not even a heli but a good simulator! The sim will teach you how to fly and you will be able to practice as much as you want, any time of day or night and weather independent than any real heli or rc plane... Of course the best part of a sim is that you hit a spacebar when you crash and your heli or a plane are new again!

Seriously, the biggest problem with the RC flying hobby is the very high rate of crashes and a loss of countless hours of assembly time and money. A good sim will pay for itself very quickly. Once you have the basic skills of flying down, the fun begins with the real models!

Here is one of the best sims on the market.

Yes, Robert got it right, Wild Rooster, Motorbike. My son comes up with all kinds of new music that once in a while catches my attention.
