Dean.......Like you, I don't leave my stylus running in the lead-out groove for long, but the sound of the stylus in the lead-out groove forces me to move immediately to lift the tonearm, whereas a tonearm lifter would allow the freedom to approach the turntable when I am ready. I have even drifted off to sleep listening to piano recordings only to wake up an hour later to the repetitious sound of the stylus circling the lead-out groove. That becomes unnecessary stylus wear that doesn't need to happen. A quality tonearm lifter would be a true convenience for analog aficionados.

I tend to do serious listening mostly on vinyl. Therefore raising the tonearm at the end of the piece is a easy task, and part of the vinyl ritual for me.

Well, the Q Up is available from one of the online suppliers but I've not been able to find any of the others . . .
I had a Thorens device some years ago that worked fairly well - have no idea what happened to it, but it did work. My problem is that I'll mute my preamp to answer the phone, or switch sources or do some other dumb thing, and leave the turntable turning, and would love to have a decent arm lifter. Has anyone found a source for the Levitator? It looks as though it might be a little gentler than the Q Up.

Actually, the stylus is quite bullet proof, especially when it comes to sitting in the run out groove of an LP. These gadgets are nice and gives one a secure feeling that negates a 'hotel oscar lima yankee, sierra hotel india tango" mad dash to the table to manually lift the tonearm out of the run out groove.
For me, I'll haul 'alpha sierra sierra' to the table. YMMV. Best Bob
