A very good review, thanks for posting, Art Vandelay. Looking forward to hearing the new 800 series.

Are you by chance the audio enthusiast with the appropriate biceps and six pack abs that helped Edgar set them up?

Cheers,

Scott

Thanks Art!
Nicely written review indeed.
Too bad he forgot to mention how the 801D4 performed with his tube amp.

LOL, Yes, that's me, but he's having a lend. Anything resembling biceps and six pack was at least 20 years ago.

He's auditioning the Estelon X Diamonds soon, so I'm expecting another call.

Thanks, I'll let him know....

He has a Supratek tube preamp, and feels it's a good match with the Gryphon Antilion Evo, so it's in the signal path most of the time. He did experiment driving direct from the Totaldac with the 801D4's, but not whilst I was there. He did comment though, to the effect that he felt that the Supratek added some musicality - at the expense of a small amount of detail and bass slam.

I'm interested to know too so I'll drive down for a listen when he has them set up.

His official review will probably be available in Jan or Feb.

Estelon is a great brand.
I heard their smaller speakers, and they did a wonderful disappearing act.
So, I'm also looking forward to your comparison!

Great review of the 801D4 speakers, the differences seem substantial!

Another vote for Estelon, truly a great speaker line. The Forza was an incredible speaker to hear and see....
