Default Any one gone from tube to ss preamp?

Anyone here that have gone from tube to ss preamp and using ss amp.

Looks like most people change from ss to tube pre.

When I got back into audio after many years, I first had an integrated Mc amp and decided to go separates. I was looking at the C49 but really wanted something with meters and found a demo C2600 and could not be happier. I have SS mono amps.

Have gone back & forth several times over the last 40yr and I'll like stay with a tube pre until I'm moved into assisted living (when I probably will not know or care ).

A little different question on this topic. How about going with a SS preamp vs tube preamp with a tube amp?
I have a MC275 MK VI. Looking at a C8, C2700, or C53. I unfortunately can't listen to these as local dealer does not have them in stock. Talked to him and he thought SS since I have a tube amp. I like the EQ on the C53 so that is a plus. However, I thought an all tube setup would be nice.

If you are interested, there is a C2600 for sale on Audiogon. I bought mine used or as a demo and could not be more pleased with it. FWIW

Thanks! Might have missed that one. Saw there was a C53 available as well.
Do you use a tube or SS amp?

Missed it by a couple days, but I just sold my C2600, and I can also vouch for the quality of that piece. However, I was browsing USAM this morning and saw a couple more C2600's listed, so there are a few options in the wider market for you.

I'm back to solid-state pre with my new Moon gear and am loving it so far

Thanks! Will take a look. Are you using a tube amplifier? Anything specific that had you switch back to solid state?

I went with a C22 for my MC275 because all tube sounded much better to me. I do not understand this idea of splitting tubes vs SS because one of each is "best of both worlds". To me, that sounds like a platitude instead of a real reason.

Best case, I hope you can listen for yourself, then decide. Since you prefer the tube power amp, I expect you'll like the tube pre best. If you cannot listen before buying, I'd jump on the C2700.

Good luck!

Yes over time I went from SS to tube and back to SS. I had tried the 2300 and moved to a Ayre KX-R before going with the D'Agostino Momentum.
