Yup. It's not subtle, is it?

It will get better once it has 200 hours on it, too. Put a Shunyata Ethernet cable from EtherREGEN to your streamer or network bridge, and it will be notably better than it is now.

Default "Audiophile" ethernet switches

Currently I’m using a Chord Company Shawline 0,75m ethernet cable from ER to streamer. And an Audioquest Cinammon 0,75m from ISP fibre router to ER. Working really well. Maybe I can try one from a seller.

Yeah, if you can get one from a seller to try, it will definitely be worthwhile. I did extensive competitive benchmarking of Ethernet cables back in 2019 vs. the beta versions of what are now the Shunyata Ethernet cables. Even the entry-level Shunyata Venom Ethernet cable blew everything I had in for benchmarking completely "into the weeds", including my Audioquest Cinnamon, Belden Cat6A, Supra Cat 8 and rented-in AQ Vodka and Wireworld Starlight CAT 8. And...it wasn't even close.

Shunyata Alpha Ethernet is a great Ethernet cable to start with as it has the Cmode (common-mode noise) filter on it.

Hello André
We are almost neighbors (also from Portugal, Oeiras, Porto Salvo) 😏
I am really also interested in this subject, and following good advice here from Puma Cat. I was calling today to Alex from Uptone to order an ER, when I saw this/your thread. I would like, if possible to get some input about the shipping and customs. As I am not able yet to make private messages..., here is my email rmpribeiro@netcabo.pt
I would be really thankfull and happy to have a short chat with you.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I can vouch for the English Electric 8 Switch. It was an upgrade with the included SMPS and with a Nuprime LPS (received today), improved further.

I have been very pleased with my modified Buffalo GS2016 switches.

They were updated by user Nenon on Audiophilestyle with chassis damping, Gaia feet, DC connector, Capacitor board and Mundorf silver wire.

I use a fiber break between them and only have my DAC Renderer connected to the second switch.

My PC and NAS are connected to the first switch. Both switches are powered by an HDPlex 300 LPS.

Everything that can be done to prevent noise and jitter from entering the DAC is a positive step and these two switches do exactly that. As audiophile costs go, this was a well spent $2,000.

My dealer prefers the Ethergen. I have not tried it. Some Monster power conditioners were traded in and I bought them for very little money. I used one of them for my ethernet switch and NAS drive putting them on separate filter circuits. The improvement in sound quality was very noticeable; more detail and quieter. I had to find a use for the conditioners and it turned out to be a less expensive alternative to the Ethergen quite by accident.
