Default A new life on MA6100

Just have the MA6100 restored.
After kept unused for ages it needed some new parts
And I install new power cable plus IEC socket. I used
Furutech silver plated FP314Ag II as short power cable to Furutech FI06 IEC.IMG_2280.jpgIMG_2338.jpg

It sounded pretty good, better than I have imagined.
Connecting to Esoteric K1X as source (for short term testing only ) and Dynaudio
Speakers.

Now I am thinking about new glass face.

I spent 160$ to have all these done.

Very cool, new glass would finish it off nicely.

That’s the difficult part. Or do you know where I can get one ?
Also the green lights were dim too. i don’t know how bright these should be.

But the resulting sound was very good, I have never listened to it before, but it sure sound more beautiful
Than a NAD C338 that I have. I think the main cable upgrade helped a lot too.IMG_2337.jpg

Thanks, although not completely.
The volume control that also used as Power switch was
Faulty and no part. So the Remote Speaker button was used as an ON OFF switch instead. And the green lights are rather dimmed.

They both look great, I like the look of that Technics especially. Great job.

All very nice. If I decide I can live without a remote I might get an MA6200.
Try here for a new faceplate. http://www.mcintoshaudio.com/
Best to call as his listings of faceplates are not always up-to-date. He can order one (may be a long wait) if he does not have in stock. Think you can order one direct from McIntosh service. But, Tom likely has more stroke with the factory than you do and delivery may be better going thru him.
And here for new long-life bulbs (as many mtbf hours as LEDs) and proper green condoms. dwojo@earthlink.net David only needs to know what piece of gear you need bulbs/condoms for to provide the correct parts. He can also provide LEDs for conversion should you want to go that direction. Good pricing and fast service.
