In an amp specifically designed for KT170, one should realize a significant power increase. |

I tried mine with the KT170 and they didnÂ’t wow me. Not that they sounded bad though. I still prefer the KT77s or KT88s if I need a bit more power.
IÂ’ve been trying to reach Dennis for a few weeks via email on his pre-amps but he has yet to respond. Is anyone able to reach him? |

Phono Preamp Prototype
I'm very happy to announce that I've been working on a phono preamp.
I used an LP-3 chassis that was made incorrectly, (can't let it go to waste). The buffer tube hole in the back was offset to the left so I added a hole beside it and put a couple of Russian voltage regulators in because I like the light show and needed to fill the holes with something. We have a smaller chassis for the production prototype that is configured differently and doesn't use VR tubes. It sounds really good but Dennis hasn't given it a final evaluation yet. I'll keep you posted on it's progress. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] |

Looking good. What will the tube complement be?

Hey Cdrdel, the tubes are 6SL7s.
I'm running a 5U4 rectifier right now. |

I'd be very interested in a phono preamp, for the record.

That looks very nice, I'm liking those knurled knobs as well.
