Default Rega

Sorry I don't have more photos just now...

This lightweight TT is part of a little system in our bedroom. The only other source is an AirPort Express. While we were engaged my wife and I agreed to never have a TV in the bedroom. Never. Music, however, is just peachy.

My dealer swapped out the RCAs for XLRs with the help of Rich at Boulder. I'm using a Boulder 1012 DAC/Pre as my phono pre-amp. But for one TOSLink digital input that unit only has balanced inputs. We all felt properly soldered XLRs would be better than adapters.

The sound is Dreamy. I could listen to Madeline Peyroux on vinyl until my last breath. It seems the whole family loves vinyl. My 7 year old son even has a little record player in his room and a collection on 80s records to play on it.

We like the P7 so much that we've just ordered a Rega P9 with Lyra Delos to wall mount next to the big system in our game room. For a plug and play guy like me the simplicity of the Rega tables is appreciated. Thinking ARC phono-pre....

Aerosmith...wonderful setup and the the Boulder 1012 pre is the real deal. I am thinking of the Lyra Delos now for a VPI Classic for my first TT. It has not yet been reviewed but receiving a lot of good chatter on the forums plus seems like at $1500 it beats out a few of the Lyra models above it especially when you consider its new design principles and price/performance ratio. What ARC phono are you thinking of matching with the Delos? I may look for a used PH7. It seems like all your equipment is SS and an ARC pre would be your first tube component if I am not mistaken. Just curious...thx

Many thanks.

The Lyra Delos seems to be a killer value for what it is for sure.

I'm thinking PH5 or hopefully a PH6 if one comes out in the next month or so. It won't be my first tube component as I've gone through a few ARC tube amps and tube pre-amps in the past. But it will be my only current tube component. With the hours it will get tube maintenance will be a very small issue. And while I'm not a tube guy anymore vinyl through tubes makes sense to me. It'll give me more of the warmth that has me listening to vinyl in the first place.

Very nice! I suggest you use a center weight and a carbon fiber mat to enhance dynamics and micro detail without harshness.
