Default PMC EB1i have arrived

First, a big thanks to PMCH (Paul) for helping make this happen. He is a true gentlemen and has been pleasure to do business with.

The EB1is arrived today with a company named Forward Air. Its the first time I've dealt with this company, but they are a long-haul trucking company that delivers to stations in many cities across the US...they don't do door-to-door service. Paul packaged the speakers perfectly on a crate, and I can honestly say the boxes still looked brand new after traveling from Albany to Sacramento. It was worth the drive from Tahoe after seeing the care that was taken during transit.

After a detour to Magnolia and the purchase of an open box Mcintosh MVP881 for $2500 I rushed home to get the speakers set up. I knew these speakers were big, but WOW! I often hear the term, these speakers disappeared in the room.....not visually for these guys! But, the cherry finish is gorgeous and the speakers are very attractive (even more so with the grills off.).

It didn't take long to get them undressed and put into place. I spent the better part of the drive home deciding what music I would introduce them to first...like I needed to impress them like I would a close friend. I settled on Mark Knopfler, Shangri-la on SACD as my first choice. I settled back in the sofa, set the volume on my MA6600 to 45% and let it rip. FANTASTIC! It took less than one minute to understand the reason so many on this forum revel in the PMC sound. I've read about the mids for this speaker, and boy do they deliver. The bass is so pure that my REL 528 has been boxed up and has already been relegated to the garage awaiting sale...i just see no need to keep it. But, it was the highs that caught me by surprise the most....so clear and detailed. The Piano on Midnight Sugar has me dreading the need to lower the volume For the kiddos bedtime. And, the listening sweet-spot is huge....I spent hours trying to get my Cremona Ms dialed in and never felt like I got it right. I've done a little tweaking this evening, but honestly, I set up the equilateral triangle, pointed the tweeters in my general direction and they sounded AWESOME!

I can't wait to dive into another listening session tomorrow and confirm everything that happened today....so much fun!

Congratulations from a former EB1i owner.
These are tremendous speakers.
The mids performance in particular is out of this world. The voices are to my ears the very best on the market and by a large margin. Supremely natural. A+++++++++++++.......
Enjoy them in great health !

Awesome!!!! Congrats! So happy to hear from another PMC convert. I'm positively in love with my PMCs. The mids are truly the best I've ever heard. The top end is so clear and open yet so very listenable at all levels. Many speakers claim this, few actually deliver. As for your experience with easy setup, that's one of the design goals of PMCS, they have much wider dispersion than most speakers. As you stand up, sit down or move around the room you'll find the sound changes far less than with most speakers. Post some pics please!

Can we see a pic of them?

I listened to some PMC Fact 8's last weekend and was suitably impressed, even though it was in a room that definitely has some acoustic issues.

Bikeman71 (Brent), I am so happy the speakers arrived in great shape. Shipping expensive items accross the country always makes you question if they will arrive in the condition they left. I had a problem with FedEx in the past and learned it is best to ship tall speakers on a pallet.

So glad to have them go to a great new home. I will truely miss them. Just didn't have room for another pair of speakers and I like to change things around every so oftem.

I would also like to see pics of them in your space.
