Oppo BDP-95 Audio Setup For 2 Channel
I need some help from you experienced Oppo owners.
I recently purchased an Oppo BDP-95 player. I have the HDMI and video setup done. The next thing I want to do is set up the audio portion for streaming Pandora or other digital media. I’ve read through the manual and I also understand how to set up my inputs at the pre-amp/processor end but am having a problem deciphering some of the Oppo instructions. The Oppo has analog out for audio that I can use but the audio setup leads me to believe that if I have HDMI out (audio & video for movies via DVD, Netflix, Vudu, etc…) connected and add an analog audio out for audio only, if I set this analog audio out to 2 ch stereo, the rest of the audio out regardless of source also becomes 2 ch stereo. Now…remember, I may be reading this wrong. I’m looking for input on how I can get full 5.1 surround for DVD, streaming movies, etc… and also be able to have 2 ch stereo when I stream Pandora and other digital music content? I do have two sets of analog RCA inputs available on my pre-pro that I can set up. I’m more worried about the setup in the Oppo box. Any help would be appreciated!

Michael.......Just connect the BDP-95 stereo L and R outputs (either XLR or RCA) to your C50. The BDP-95 mixes a stereo signal to those outputs automatically no matter how the multi-channel is configured.

C50? Do you mean the pre-amp, Dan?

Michael.......Yes, I meant your preamp. I was thinking you had a McIntosh C50.
BTW, I corrected your thread title for you.
