Default TURNTABLE SETUP - Tools, Tips and Tricks!

Well, I'm finally making the plunge and stepping back in time. I have my very first turntable arriving this week and have a lot to learn!

As a virgin to vinyl, I've started my research and found many threads here very helpful... thanks to Serge and the rest of the gang!

But rather than discuss actual turntable set-up which can be rather extensive, I thought it would make a very interesting thread to find out all the COOL TOOLS everyone is using to set up their turntable for optimum performance!

Along with the COOL TOOLS, feel free to add the Tips and Tricks for better set-up!

I suggest you start here. I get much better sound in the On position.

Just joking. Enjoy the ride.

What did you order.

I'll remember Tip #1... good place to start!

I have the Pro-Ject Xpression III, for my first go around and will be trying different cartridges such as the Denon 103R, Ortofon 2M Series or Dynavector 10x5. Hence the need for good TOOLS, TIPS & Tricks!

As for tools... I'll probably get the Pro-Ject Align It tool, and already have levels and a cheap stylus weight gauge.
