I compared the digital preamp feature of my Bryston BDA 3.14 against a BP 17 3 pre and preferred the sound of the BDA 3.14 directly into my 4B3

Interesting finding, thx for sharing. Properly executed digital volume can compete with the very best pre-amps. I suspect Bryston knows what they are doing.
