Review: Aidas Mammoth Gold Moving Coil Stereo Cartridge
Here is a link to my review of the Aidas Mammoth Gold cartridge on Positive-Feedback.
The body of this cartridge is made from a 21,000 year old Mammoth tusk, excavated from the ice in Siberis. Possessing a balanced natural character where all is good and no particular attribute jumps out or goes missing makes for a holistic presentation that is more than a sum of audiophile attributes. The Mammoth Gold is a delightful music lover's cartridge that will not tire you with long term listening—my highest compliment. https://positive-feedback.com/review...oth-cartridge/ |

Tim - Nice review. Thanks for the link.
Am guessing the Mammoth would work well in the 12 Sorane TA-L1 on my Kuszma Stabi S+D12.

Thank you, Glenn, much appreciated.
I have not used your Sorane tonearm but from the specs I see no reason the Mammoth Gold would not work |

Here's an update to my Aidas Mammoth Gold review ...
I recently acquired a nice mint SME 3012R tonearm and mounted onto it an out-of-the-box new Mammoth Gold. This is a fantastic combination that sounds even more vivacious and weighty in the low end, with even better tonality and dynamics than I heard with the cartridge on my 4Point. Now initial transient attack is spot-on and the cartridge yields greater top-end extension than I heard during the review period. |
