I'v just got my rebuilt and upgraded STUDER B67.
It's like it was new apart from some patina on the front panel. New teak sides, all bearings is new, and other mechanical parts, the circuits and components in the signal path and current parts are new. New original Studer VU-meters. The head stack is renovated by a company in Florida and is as good as new, if not better. I'v compared it to other tape recorders and this is sounding very well and works perfectly. It may move my Lyrec Frida from the throne, this B67 just sounds better.

They are to drive my 15' bas deep low driver from my Krell FPB 400cx. Just the bottom end. Krell FPB 400cx is right now changing some op-amps so I have to wait for the results. Though, I think the bas will be cleaner with more texture and faster with better timing. Maybe the Synergistic Research resolution reference X-series are a bit more pronounced in he bas frequencies.

I'v just inaugurated my new garage for my diffusor wings.
I think it's better to park them in that garage when I'm not listening. They are quite easy to move. In minutes they are back and forth.

I'm still trying to figure out the best way to drive my The Sonus faber with bi-amping configuration.
I'v been curious about different cables from Krell fpb 400cx to The Sonus faber "deep low" (under 80Hz) Is i possible to here a different in these isolated low frequencies? Since I have a pair of Nordost Valhalla and Synergistic Research Resolution Reference X-Serie with electric shield to compare it's possible to try this out. The first thing to notice is that the big positive difference is to use bi-amping. It is much better then just a pair of monoblock Krell fpb350mc. They are connected with Nordost Odin. Synergistic has got more power in the deep low but lack a bit of refinement and control. Valhalla has got more control, better timing and faster transients. More resolved as well. I'v got a lot of power in my system as it is and do not need more. So for me, I go for Nordost Valhalla in the lower frequencies. It is very easy to tell the difference. I think most people could hear this. Synergistic Research Resolution Reference X-Serie connected to deep low. Nordost Valhalla connected to deep low. Conclusion: Nordost Valhalla gets the honor.

The Very Best that I have heard them were when they were Tri-Amped.

Carl, as you know I'm a Mac man so I'm admittedly prejudiced. But I have sound reasons for really liking Mac. The 901 Dual Mono amp gets all the press and is designed for bi-amping. I have had passing thoughts of a Mac system in my living room using the large XRT2.1K speakers. Sitting quietly well down in the Mac amplifier lineup is the MC303. I have little use for tubes. Two of these beauties or should I say beasts would wonderfully drive a tri-amped XRT2.1K system or your Fenice's. The 901's receive all the press but the 303's are the Mac amps that easily and compactly allow for a gorgeous tri-amped speaker system.

Mac 303 could be a good alternative and also 901. I would really like to listen to 901 some time. I imagine it sounds great. What pre amp can be connected to two 303? Though, I'm not going to change lanes now. The Tri-amping idea is probably staying as an idea. I think there would be to many big power amps in my system due to space as I see it now. Due to sound? ... probably a killer.
