This is an impossible task, but here are five tracks that would make my Top 100 list:

  • More Than A Feeling / Boston / Epic (Half-Speed Master) HE34186
  • What Was It You Wanted / Bob Dylan / CBS OC 45281
  • Ride of the Valkyries (Wagner) Leinsdorf, LSO / RCA LSC-2692
  • Beginnings / Chicago Transit Authority / MFSL 2-128
  • Fantasy on Two Folk Songs (Budashkin) / Osipov State Russian Folk Orchestra / Mercury SR00310

Two more tracks that I often use were burned to CD for me by my late friend Tommy West. He made these recordings in his home studio, and he also played them for me there. They were never commercially released. One is a delightful, bouncy cover of "Bobalu's Wedding Day" and the other a take of "Girl of My Dreams," which sets my heart aglow every time I hear it. Tommy was extremely gifted and I miss him.
