If you want to read the review in TAS of the Altaira system, just send me a PM, I can send you a PDF of the article. Some of the "terms" Harley uses are not exactly technically correct (he keeps referring to "chassis noise", for example), but he does a good job of characterizing and summarizing the improvement that this system brings, which is, in my experience, fairly profound.

Harley's reference to "chassis noise" is more accurately characterized as "chassis ground-plane noise". "Chassis noise" could be from the influence of vibration on the component chassis itself (which does have an effect, which is why we need specialized footers, dampers, and racks, etc), but what Altaira's functionality is not related to vibration-damping (not dampening, which is to make something moist).

A kind gesture. Thank you!

If anyone with the Altaira hubs also has an Add-Powr device (Wizard or Sorcer), I connected my Wizard to my CG hub with positive results. This was only using an old ground cable I made myself and not a purpose built Shunyata cable which would likely yield even better results. Everything I’ve connected to my Altaira hubs has brought improved performance to my system. These simple looking boxes are really incredible. Just a quick thought. I hope everyone is well.

They also really improve any "audio networking" types of devices, e.g. Ethernet switches, routers, and music server computers/NUCs, etc.

Shown is a photo of my Gemini that has 4 Altaira CG GP-NR terminals that is used in my remote server room for these types of devices. My EtherREGEN, Akasa NUC Roon core and Pace router all connected to the GP-NR system of Gemini.

Must one have a Shunyata Everest (or other power source) for the Altaira chassis ground system to work?

Grounding to a Shunyata power distributor will give best performance, but Shunyata also makes an adapter to ground the Altaira directly to a wall outlet. IMG_3257.jpg

I had my electrician sink 2 ground rods outside my music room, run a ground from the outlet to the rods, then ran a pigtail from the outlets to the Altaria to ground everything.

Thanks, Tony. I thought about having a quad outlet installed rather than a duplex. Ah, well. Not too difficult to add another duplex.
