I tried a Monbrison with a Pass FirstWatt F5 and would not recommend the combination. The XA25 has also a lower input impedance at 47K (vs. 100k for the F5) which makes the electrical match to the high-ish output impedance on the Aurieges and Monbrison.

The Pass Shindo Combo took the live out of both components and I really do like both, just not as a match.

Thanks! I decided to purchase a Supratek Chardonnay should have it in a couple of months. I heard one about a decade ago and i have never forgotten how great it sounded and now they have a gen3 that`s is claimed to be better, i also like the point to point wiring it might not look the best but i understand why it`s the way it is.

I am interested in trying the Shindo Aurieges and Montille with my Audio Note AN-E SPe HE speakers that are 97.5db efficient with 6 ohms impedance. Source will be my VPI Prime with Hana SL cart along with a SUT. Will this be a good match? I am not interested in trying other speakers, instead looking to match Shindo with my current speakers. Any feedback would be welcomed. Thanks.

My guess is that the Montille will be very happy with AN-E HE speakers.

Thanks Jerome. It will have to do until I get up to your Shindo CCQ.

My girlfriend presented me with a wonderful birthday present...a used Aurigies to partner with my Montille. Its a later one piece unit (but certainly not current)
I had to open it to take a look (porn) and I was surprised to see an Alps potentiometer used for volume. I was under the impression that only Tocos was used.
