Prestige Worldwide...very nice VPI Aries tt. Is that the JMW10.5i tonearm? Does the SLP-05 have an on-board phono stage or are you using a stand-alone phono?

very nice looking set-up

Thanks cmalak. Yes, it's an Aries II with the 10.5i arm. The Cary is line stage only, so I use a Sonic Frontiers SFP-1 Signature. Had it modded recently by PartsConnexion..

Nice setup yourself, by the way. The 16.5 is a must have..

How do you like those Thiels? I went to demo a pair recently but sadly they were sold right before I got there. Had to go in a different direction..

Prestige...the Thiel 2.4s are great speakers. Highly resolving and when paired with high quality amplification very natural sounding. They are very revealing of lesser quality components in the chain before them so you do have to be careful what you aprtner them with. They don't go down very low (you get solid bass response down to mid- to high-30Hz) but more than enough for regular rock, jazz and classical. If you are a bass freak and listen to a lot of pedal organs or heavy metal for example, look elsewhere. I have had them for 6-7 years and am very happy with them. Hope this helps.
