In principle, yes, assuming 6-channel + 2-channel equates to 4x 2-channel, you could put some 280 minutes of stereo on a single layer SACD, and since dual layer SACDs are possible you would end up with some 560 minutes of stereo on a single disc. Unfortunately, other considerations were taken into account when the SACD specification was created, and so the maximum length of a disc is limited to 256 minutes.

Hope that answers your question, Demery (Philips Electronics)

^^^^^You're on a mission Ed!

Playing this:

Christoph Graupner - Lass mein Herz - Cantatas & Ouvertures
Dorothee Mields, soprano
Harmonie Universelle, Florian Deuter - Mónica Waisman
via Qobuz

Mields is the lead soprano of Collegium Vocale Gent (Philippe Herreweghe).
So we know her well.
Graupner is slowly seeing his revival.
So far, Florian Heyerick was a more or less lonely fighter for this noble cause, but I'm glad to see there are more ensembles and musicians jumping on the Graupner train.
It's really worth it.
This is lovely music.

Porpora - L'amato nome - Cantatas Opus 1
Stile Galante, Stefano Aresi
via Qobuz

I knew Porpora from very spectacular music, but this is very fine chamber baroque with a delicious voice.

Basewicz - Tansman - Pendrecki - Works for violin and piano
Karolina Piatkowska-Nowicka, violin
Bogna Czerwinska-Szymula, fortepiano, piano
via Qobuz

I knew Penderecki already, the rest is new to me.
Seems like very interesting music, all three works.

Ravel - Szymanowski - String Quartets
Quatuor Joachim
Qobuz 24/44.1

The Ravel String Quartet is one of my favourite ones.
This ensemble plays it wonderfully.
The Szymanowski works, that I didn't know before, seem like pieces I want to hear again.
This goes into my favourites.
