I chose an iPhone over Android because the iPhone's radiation levels were lower. Interestingly, the French digital minister acknowledges the levels are lower than what would be needed to be harmful. They still want compliance, however. It's like tests on lab animals for carcinogenic substances, but they overload the dosages to ridiculous amounts to get the cancerous result; it's then pointed out that the doses administered are way beyond anything in real life the average consumer/user might be exposed to.

BTW, I have an iPhone 8 Plus.

Side-note/experiences regarding radiation of 5G and 5G-related devices:

About a year and a half ago I had my ISP, ATT U-Verse (which is the only ISP we can get where I live; a complex story I won't go into here), upgrade my home router from 2.4GHz to 5Ghz/2.4GHz. The router was placed on a cabinet on the right side of my master bedroom where one of the only two outside data lines for internet connectivity for the ISP come into my townhome. After it was installed, I would wake up at night with my left hand really hurting me; it would ache badly as if sprained or injured. I should add because of my back problems, I sleep on my right side, with a pillow between my knees to keep my back "square", and my left hand resting outside the covers. After a couple nights of this, I realized the only change was the new router was literally beaming 5GHz energy right across the bed in line with my hand....all night long and the pain I was feeling was from the electromagnetic energy from a router operating at 5GHz, radiating into my hand.

I moved the router into the spare bedroom where there was another connection to my ISP, and the pain I was experiencing at night immediately went away.

Now, when using my 5Ghz iPhone while "on the move" (i.e., not at home), I never hold the phone near my head or keep it near my body when using it; I always put on a headset and place or hold the phone down as far away from me as the cable allows. At home I set the phone on my Quad Lock desk stand (the Quad Lock system is frickin' GREAT, BTW...) and use the speaker. In the car, I put the phone on the dash Quad Lock mount, and when I ride my racing bicycle for training, which I do every other day, I put my phone on my Quad-Lock bicycle mount on the handlebars, not in my jersey back-pocket.

Here the 'ole inverse-square law is your friend: for every "doubling" of the distance the phone is away from you, the radiation goes down four-fold.

Bottom-line: I try to keep the phone as far away from me as practicable at all times.

I do not know about phone tests, but one should not discount lab animal tests because they "load up the animals..." These tests are models for how humans will react over years of use of a particular drug and they correlate closely. Essentially, and perhaps surprisingly, overdosing a rat with a short lifespan is similar medically to the correct dose in a human over a much longer time period

There's a perspective I've not heard before. Thanks. As for the phone info, I found it online when I was researching phones way back in 2017. A chart listing radiation levels for various Android and Apple phone models showed Apple phones were lower in their output generally, so I bought my 8 plus iPhone in 2018. Still have it, but put a new SIM card in last month.
