Default Game Of Thrones...

Want to take a moment to thank Ivan for adding this category to The Lounge section.

Stacie and I have found a lot of good mini series that have been very entertaining for us which have been presented by HBO, Showtime, History channel etc. I have found the quality of the content to be much more to my liking then what I would see on the local network stations.

So I will start off with one of my all time favorites which is Game of Thrones! It is addictive to say the least. I can not say enough about this series. The books are great according to my wife. The reviews are through the roof so if you can give it a shot and try to watch several episodes before you make up your mind...

I am a big fan of Game of Thrones - both the books and the series. I think the series has done a good job of cutting some of the more extraneous story lines. The series has varied from the books in enough places that I am often unsure what is going to happen next, which I both like and loath.

Have you read the books? It actually okay to read them after you watch. Since there are so many characters the TV show will give you general info and the books dive deep! Enjoy! I'm all caught up at the moment and excited for what comes next!

I've just started the third book and am current on the HBO series. I like them both a lot. I'm having trouble getting into the third book so I'll put it down for awhile and read something else. The one thing I've learned is to not get attached to any characters.

A very true statement....^^^

We buy each season when it comes out on BR. We can complete a season fairly quickly... Which of course leaves us waiting 12 months for the next one. Lucky for me my wife has read the books and she helps me keep up with all of the characters as it is hard to remember them all when you have so much time between each season.

I watched the first ten minutes of Episode 1 Season 1 and the gratuitous violence was too much. After all the great things people had to say about it I tried one more episode. As soon as I saw flying dragons I knew this still wasn't for me.

Hey Jim,

Kudos for giving it a shot...

By the end of season two I thought this was one if not the best miniseries that I have ever seen! I then called my mom and said you have to watch Game of Thrones... It is better then slice bread!! She said, "Can I play Sudoku while I watch it?". I hung my head down and said, "No mom, you need to pay attention... There are a lot of characters, and a very detailed plot..." Oh well, I tried... Told her to go back to her Sudoku game...

Huge Fan of the show. Haven't read the books.

+1 on not getting attached to any character.

It is not for everyone who dislikes or has limits on violence or adult situations. This show does not hold back on the 'reality' of such events.

Default Who is your favorite Game of Thrones Character...

My favorite character for Game of Thrones is without a doubt Daenerys Targaryen or Khaleesi... First of all she is hot, sexy, powerful, kind to the masses, she has her own pet dragons, and did I say she is Hot!!!...

My wife Stacie really likes Tyrion... I have to agree he is one intriguing character...

Who is your favorite Game of Thrones Character?
