How far apart are your speakers from each other and your primary listening position?

Hi Bruno2009,
Officially, we recommend more toe-in for a setup such as yours. Presuming that your speakers are locked-in front to back (crudely speaking, they are the same distance away from the wall behind them) my setups feature tweeters crossing 3-4 feet behind my head. The precise amount varies with distance apart, distance away from the listener and the degree of absorption or reflection from the various wall surfaces. When done properly, you get a wide and deep soundstage with precise placement of images in the soundstage. Regards, Patrick B&W Group North America |

Hi Patrick - thanx for your reply (talking 802 Diamonds - not D3s). I`ll try toeing in my 802 Diamonds some more (yes - they are set up at the same distance to the back and the side wall - about one meter from each).
Always great to hear other opinios and experiment some - |

An old thread I know....
But, was wondering if anybody else had a more recent experience (positive or negative) with that kind of extreme toe-in? Birdy |

It would also be good to know if there are particular tracks commonly played, within the trade, when setting up speakers.

Thanks, I've been a long time lurker
I'm interested in this post as I've just upgraded to 803d3. I've had various b&w speakers for the last 25 years but a newcomer to Mcintosh, now I have mc452 and c53 (along side an Arcam 5.1 system, bypassed). I'm loving it all! But always looking for improvements. Just need to sort out a random high pitched click/pop through the tweeters when it all turns on/off.... |

No problem, thanks though. I was aware of that and have a question. I assume the triggers on the c53 all trigger at the same time? No way of a delayed trigger to the amp?
I didn't really want to lose everything turning on together but for sake of my tweeters I may have to go manual, not sure if the wife will cope🤔 |
