It's been over two weeks of continuous playback with Yggy LIM in the system (mostly on mute of course), and the sound quality of this upgrade cannot be overstated. I agree with what others have said: excellent detail, robust bass, impressive imaging, not at all harsh at louder volumes. Granted, I've made some cabling changes recently (WW Silver Eclipse 8 interconnects and a Venom V10 NR cord supplying juice to the power conditioner), so those are also contributing to my improved audio experience with the new-n-tasty Yggy. But, after I've finished with my major upgrades and gotten them settled in, I'm hoping to do a comparison against the Gumby -- I'm expecting that it will not be a fair fight!

I ordered the LIM Yiggy last night and am anxious to hear how it sounds.

Have any of you Schitt-heads (LOL...excuse the pun) compared the LIM with any of the big hitter DACs (dCS, Chord, etc) or medium hitters (PS Audio Directstream, etc.)-

I’d be also keen to hear how it stacks up against the Halo Spring 3 DAC

My Yggy Less is More arrived yesterday morning. Out the box it sounded horrible. Based on reviews I’m not terribly concerned as there are many reports that a few days of burning in makes significant changes.

I’ve been burning it in now for a day and night.

As I’m writing this it is considerably better than when I first heard it out the box.

I can’t wait to hear this in a few days.

Any other LIM owners compare this thing head to head with some of the bigger hitter DACS? (Or some of the exciting new dacs like @lostinla was asking about?

I just bought an MDA-1000 and an Alpha USB as well which I’ll be eager to compare (and share what I find).

Grasshopper,

How does the LIM sound compared to your D100 or MDA1000?

I am thinking about replacing my D100 and wonder if the LIM would be a significant upgrade.

Also considering the Bryston BDA3 which costs considerably more than the LIM.

I’m still burning in the LIM and the MDA-1000 should be here Wednesday night.

The LIM out the box sounded awful. After a couple days it really smoothed out and sounds pretty good.

So far it is smoother than the d100, but the soundstage is very flat compared to the d100.

I’m reserving judgement until it’s fully burned in as it has already changed considerable.

I have a Berkley Alpha USB coming as well (arriving Wednesday) so I’m eager to try that with the LIM and see what it does to the soundstage (and of course use it with the MDA-1000.

I’ll report back later after I get some time with the MDA.

I got to add the Alpha USB to the LIM today and really liked the sound.

Very smooth and analog sounding.

I’ve played with the MDA-1000 too, but need to spend more time to see if it’s better than the Yggy LIM. Time will tell.

Any LIM owners have feedback on how it stacks up against other DACs?
