She's more of an HT person. But on the rare occasions when we listen together, there is a loveseat located stage right that is easy to move into place.

If you don't mind, how far apart are your speakers, and how far away is your listening chair?

Hi,
My speakers are 10'9" apart. The listening chair is 10' to 10'9" on the diagonal from the speakers, depending on how far I recline. So pretty much an equilateral triangle. That's not the way I planned it, it just worked out that way.

Tom

He used to own Wilson's, and it's a secret where he got his Sonus Faber.

Vinola,
Welcome to AA!!
Like most of my gear, I got it from fellow members here on Audio Aficionado. The for sale section is an amazing place. Well worth the annual subscription.

Yes, I compared these with several Wilson speakers, including the Alexia, Sophia 2, and Shasha. All of the Wilson speakers are fantastic in my opinion.

I replaced a pair of Wilson Sophia 2's I happily owned for 4 years with the Sonus Faber Amati Futura's.

At this level, it is truly "Horses for Courses" and the synergy between my McIntosh tube amplification and the Futuras is what sold me on the combination.
The outcome may have been different had I had different electronics, so YMMV.

Regards,

Tom

Thanks Tom, that's helpful. Appreciate your candor. I've only just started to replace gears I got more than a decade ago. I finally replaced my pre amp amp combo with Ayre KXR and MXR.. My well used Epos 14s circa 1991 are performing at their absolute best ever, but I'm ready for new speakers to Match the Ayre. I heard Sasha at Audioperfection, and I thought they were musical and threw huge soundstage with amazing resolution. At this price, I'd like to demo equally competent speakers. I've heard the cheaper Sonus Fabers and I thought they were a bit warm. I should listen to the Amatis. Thanks much.

Amati and Futura beats the pants off the newer SF's IMHO.
