Default My Nine Months with Amati Futura's

It's been about nine months since a pair of Amati Futura's first graced my listening room. I think, for me, I've found the ideal speaker. (At least until the next more ideal one comes around!)

As a bonus, Kelly really likes them, and that's a good thing. She thought the speakers they replaced looked like little robots and actually laughed when I uncrated them.

The highs are just right for me - not too forward or strident. The voices, especially female voices, are to die for. The bass is very tuneful and goes pretty deep.

They took several weeks to dial in just right. That part was harder than other similar speakers I've owned. Well worth the effort, though.

I find myself listening more than I ever have, to all different kinds of music. I'm really enjoying the time off this week to listen a lot. I hope you are able to do the same!

Tom

Tom.......Thanks for the update on your beautiful Sonus faber Futura speakers. I certainly can relate. I have had my Sonus faber Amati Anniversario speakers for three years and four months now. Every time I go into the studio for some listening time I am excited to see them and mesmerized when I hear them. It is joyful.

Here's wishing you many satisfying years with the Futura's. They are fabulous loudspeakers.

Nice set up Tom. Wonder how long and what speaker cable are you using?

Great! They are extremely good speakers. I agree with you about how they handle female voices.

Tom..... I am so envious... I tried to find a way of fitting a pair of these Sf Amati Futuras into my living room, but they are just too deep! They would stick out too far into the room and impact on the seating arrangements. I am trying instead to choose between Sf Olympica IIIs or Focal Electra 1038 Be IIs.

Yup, love my Futuras. I brought in a SET amp @ 20 watts/channel to have some tube grooving. I was worried that the futuras would be a tough load to drive with this amp, but at a sensitivity of 90db, they are remarkably easy to drive speakers. Sounds lush and is addictive.

I love your room. Wish I had a room that big to let those bad boys breathe.
