The McIntosh would be a good visual match with your other components, however the Niagara will perform at a higher level.

I think it's difficult to answer your question, in part because power quality can vary so much from one location to another, so what works best in your system may not work the same in another.
I'm not familiar with the AQ, but I think the Mac may offer some switching options - such as selecting which outlets are switched and when they are energized - that the AQ may not. I don't know if that's important to you.

FWIW I am going with the MPC1500 but it can take up to 10 weeks for delivery. I am 5 weeks in so far...!

So far, I did a quick calibration with only one focus position and I’m definitely noticing a difference for the better. Sound stage is more defined, bass is slightly more prominent without the loss of top end that some have mentioned. Some other posts mentioned taking more focus points and running in global mode will produce a warmer sound. I’ve yet to try that.
