Played this again today. The sense of drama in the Act 2 dungeon scene when the distant trumpet-call is heard is remarkable.

Received this LP today. Phenomenal playing, pretty good sound, but noisy surfaces. I requested a refund since it doesn't live up to the "near mint" designation.

These are very satisfying performances, vibrant and full of urgency. The brass and the timpani shine and the excellent recording captures it all in its full glory. The three Leonore overture are played consecutively allowing me to appreciate the process behind the creation of this music.
