Upgraditis
I guess it was inevitable.
We got into vinyl during Covid and started with an EAT C-major with Ortofon Bronze MM feeding into a Bryston BP17-3 with on board phono option (MM only). (Bryston, Audeze, and WW goodies thru AA/Ivan). So, if I doubled the budget, say $6-$8K, what can I get? Or need to move >$10K to get a real bump?? Prefer to stay with MM as I am not the only one to use the TT and don't want another box (but considering a new pre-amp as well). Thoughts?

VPI suggestion by Ivan is a solid suggestion. If you don’t feel confident with a unipivot arm you could consider a gimbal design.

For belt drive in that price range, I have to agree w/Ivan. The looks may not be for everyone, but if DD is your thing I'd look at a Technics SL-1200G. If I was in your shoes and wanted to stretch the budget I would 100% pick up the SP-10 in the Market.
I'd also make the jump up to the 2M Black cart, it's worth every dollar.

Another vote for the Technics, and as Glenn said, the removable headshell is a big plus. You can also go with an MC cartridge and add a stepup transformer to feed the MM input on your current pre instead of a new phono stage, it's another box but would be much smaller and can be discretely positioned. There are some great reasonably priced options out there, including Ortofon's ST-7
