Default Recommendations : Headphone System
I am in the market for a good headphone system, not quite sure what to budget for something decent. Roon server will be my source. Looking forward to recommendations

What is your budget, and what is decent to you? One can easily spend a few thousand, all the way to $25k and more.

The better headphones will require dedicated headphone amps; especially electrostatic.

will the headphone system requires its own DAC and network bridge? a 'streaming' headphone amplifier so to speak.

Looking at your signature, I'm going to guess you want something awesome, and are willing to pay significant dollars. I recommend you check out offerings from Stax and Abyss. I love my Stax--they are ethereal. Abyss are meatier. Both of these are on every list of world's best.

Very important to test drive before you buy. Head Amp will allow returns with a reasonable restocking fee. The Cable Company has a lending library.
